As Director, Quality Operations & Stars for Care N’ Care (CNC), Shane Greene, PharmD, is responsible for key operational areas, including member services, provider services, vendor relations and medical appeals and grievances.

Prior to his current position, he served as Director of Pharmacy Services for Care N’ Care for seven years, responsible for the plan’s Medicare Part D pharmacy operations.  Before joining CNC, Greene was Director of Clinical Pharmacy Services for North Texas Specialty Physicians and served on the faculty of Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Pharmacy, specializing in ambulatory care.

He received his Bachelor of Science in biomedical science from Texas A&M University and his Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Texas at Austin in cooperation with the UT Health Science Center at San Antonio. He completed his pharmacy practice residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and his specialty residency in primary care pharmacy practice at the South Texas Veterans Health Care System in San Antonio in conjunction with UT Austin and the UT Health Science Center at San Antonio. He was recognized as a Board-Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist from 2003-2017 and as a Certified Diabetes Educator from 2004-2009.

Dr. Greene is a past President for the Texas Society of Health-System Pharmacists (2015-2016) and has served on the board of directors.  Nationally, he has been active in the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. At the state level, he was a member of the Texas Diabetes Council’s Medical Professionals Advisory Subcommittee within the Texas Department of State Health Services from 2007-2014.
