Health Plan Calls Upon All Area Residents to Take the Time to Recognize and Applaud the Ongoing Contributions Being Made by Seniors

(FORT WORTH, Texas) – May 8, 2017 — During Older American’s Month in May, Care N’ Care Health Plan is encouraging residents throughout the greater North Texas area to take the time to honor older adults and to recognize the contributions they continue to make to the community, their friends and their family.

“Getting older doesn’t mean what it once did. Karsten says that Older American’s Month “offers a special opportunity to learn about, support, and recognize our nation’s older citizens and the positive impact they are having on the lives of others.” Some ideas for honoring seniors this month include arranging a family get together with older family members as the guests of honor, surprising your favorite older adults with flowers or ice cream, helping a senior learn new skills (such as the computer), inviting a more-active senior to a round of golf, or offering to do some errands or chores for an elderly neighbor. “It can also be as simple as making a phone call to a senior friend or family member,” says Karsten. “The most important thing is demonstrating that you care.”
